Strapless N95 Mask Fit Test Best Practices (6:05)
(also read the IMPORTANT tips just below)
Four Most Common Mistakes When Donning (putting on) the Mask…
1. NIOSH Peel off Label not at bottom of mask, but bridge of nose instead.
2. Not getting mask into crease of nose before drawing horizontal line under your eyes.
3. Not drawing line horizontally under the eyes, but at a downward slope.
4. Not drawing line straight down to your jawbone, but rather directly to your chin.
Doffing (taking off) the Mask…
~Remove mask from the bottom up.
~Get your thumbs in, up against your throat, just at either side of the tab.
~Lift out from throat, while at the same time pulling tab apart and lifting mask up and off.
The Strapless N95 may be reapplied multiple times, if desired.
Sizing…
~The approximately 1” thick tab should be resting just under your throat.
~If the tab is hanging too low, then the mask size is too large.
~If the tab is not 1” thick but is barely coming together, the mask is too small.
If you are having any difficulty donning, doffing, sizing or fit testing, please reach out!
The Strapless N95 takes just seconds to put on and take off!
I am thankful for your company
as I had an employee fail the fit test
for all of our seven different
“traditional” N95’s
we have in the office.
The only one she ended up passing with was the Strapless XL!
I started with the masks
that I have the most inventory of -
3M 1860, Makrite 9500,
Progear small and regular,
along with a few other brands.
This new employee
has distinct facial features
with very prominent cheekbones.
Scott sent us some samples
of the Strapless N95,
so we decided to give those a try.
The large size did not quite close
under the chin,
so we went to the XL size
and she passed.
She is very pleased
with the comfort
of the Strapless N95 Mask.
After other staff members
saw her wearing it,
they were interested in trying it too.
Looks like I will be doing a lot of fit testing with the Strapless N95!
